Eccleshall Community First Responder Scheme is made up of a group of volunteers who have been trained by West Midlands Ambulance Service to provide emergency medical aid to people living and working in the local community. The purpose of a Community First Responder Group is to provide emergency medical care until the professional service arrives on scene.
It is important to understand that we do not replace the professional service, but we are able to provide necessary support and assistance until their arrival.
Eccleshall Community First Response scheme aims to provide support 24 hours, seven days per week for the residents and workers of Eccleshall and its surrounding area. To enable us to achieve this we need to enlist the help of people who would either like to train as responders or join our supporters team.
Like all First Responder Schemes across the county we receive no funds from central sources and rely entirely on fund raising, sponsorship and donations. The volunteer responders give their time for operations and training freely. The money that we need for day to day running costs as well as the purchase of equipment, uniforms and a vehicle has to be raised through fundraising events or public or private donations.
